Product information
An aluminium composite skin over an insulated shell
The KompoCity Composite Cabin is built in two layers: a sandwich panel structure inside, clad on the outside in aluminium composite panel. That cladding is what separates the range from an ordinary site cabin. It stands up to rain, sun and wind, and it avoids the fading and rusting that show up on an exterior surface after a few seasons outdoors.
The inner sandwich panel does the other half of the work. It insulates against heat and sound, so staff on a long shift are not sitting in whatever the weather is doing outside, and the interior lining is chosen to keep even the smaller cabins feeling open rather than boxed in.
A frontage that suits the building behind it
A cabin at the entrance to a development, a hotel or a business centre becomes part of the frontage whether or not anyone intended it to. The composite exterior gives straight lines and a smooth, even surface, which sits closer to the architecture around it than a traditional security booth does. Colour and cladding details can be matched to an organisation's identity, and logos can be applied to the panels.
Modular, so it can move
Cabins are modular and go up quickly once on site. A unit can be lifted with a forklift or crane, taken to another part of the site or to another site entirely, and put back into service there — useful where a control point moves with the phase of a project rather than staying at one gate for good.
Interiors can be prepared before delivery: electrical installation, lighting, sockets and ventilation, with air conditioning infrastructure where the role calls for it. The cabin arrives set up for the job it is going to do.
Five sizes, from a single pitch to a working office
The range runs from 1.40m × 1.40m up to 2.65m × 2.65m. The smallest is sized for one person on duty, and its compact footprint is an advantage in a city centre, a plaza or a shopping centre entrance where there is little floor area to give up. The middle of the range takes a desk, a chair and a document rack. The larger cabins hold a desk, seating, filing, monitors and communications equipment with room to receive a visitor, and there is space for a small sink or an air conditioning unit where the cabin is doing more than watching a gate.
Where composite cabins are used
- Security and gatehouse duty at residential developments, hotels, campuses and school entrances.
- Information and reception points in front of public buildings, university campuses and cultural centres.
- Valet and car park reception, at car park and restaurant entrances.
- Sales offices at outdoor events, fairs and temporary stands.
- Kiosks and ticket points — cafeteria counters, ticket and travel card sales, and small service points in areas with heavy foot traffic.
