Office Work Pod – One-Person Acoustic Pod, 1.26 m × 1.60 m

The Karmod Office Work Pod is an enclosed one-person acoustic pod for focused work and video calls in open-plan offices, co-working spaces, libraries and universities. It measures 1.26 m × 1.60 m and 2.20 m high (4 ft 2 in × 5 ft 3 in × 7 ft 3 in) and costs £7,450 + VAT, or £8,940 inc VAT.

At about 2.0 m², it has almost twice the phone booth's footprint, with space for a desk and chair. The renders show a charcoal exterior, orange acoustic interior panels and a full-height glazed front and door.

Office Work Pod size and price

The pod is 1.26 m wide, 1.60 m long and 2.20 m high. Prices are per pod and exclude delivery and offloading.

What the price includes

Lighting, power and a 1-year warranty are included; the desk, chair, delivery and offloading are not.

Delivered assembled: check your access route

The work pod arrives fully assembled, in one piece, wrapped in bubble wrap and stretch film. Every opening on the way in must clear at least 1.26 m in width and 2.20 m in height, while a standard UK internal door leaf is about 0.76–0.84 m × 1.98 m.

Before you order, measure:

• the clear width and height of every door, fully open, measured at door stops and closer arms;
• corridor widths, and whether a pod 1.60 m long can make each turn;
• lifts, stairs and the ceiling height at the final position.

Double doors of standard 1.98 m height are still lower than the pod. Send us your measurements and photos of the route.

What does NRC 0.95 mean?

The interior acoustic panels have a supplier rating of NRC 0.95. The noise reduction coefficient (0 to 1) shows how much sound a surface absorbs rather than reflects, so at 0.95 the panels absorb most of the sound reaching them and keep echo down inside the pod. It does not measure sound passing through the walls or glazing; we quote no decibel reduction or speech privacy rating.

Can the Office Work Pod be used outdoors?

No. The Office Work Pod is suitable for indoor use only. For a one-person office in the garden, look at our container garden offices and garden rooms and garden offices instead.

Which pod should you choose?

• XXL Meeting Pod (1–7 people, 2.50 m × 2.20 m, £14,950 + VAT): team meetings.

FAQs

How much does an office work pod cost?

£7,450 + VAT (£8,940 inc VAT), with LED lighting and a power socket / USB charging point. Furniture, delivery and offloading are quoted separately.

Does the work pod come with a desk and chair?

No. The furniture in the images is for illustration only; if you would like us to supply it, we quote it separately.

Do I need my landlord's permission?

Check with your landlord or building manager before ordering if you rent the office. A freestanding indoor pod is not a building extension, but add it to your workplace fire risk assessment too, covering whether alarms can be heard inside and whether escape routes stay clear.
